Lion Royal Pony Trekking – Rhayader
Situated in the beautiful "Lakeland of Wales" we ride from our farm at about 10:30am, taking a different route each day in the hills, valleys & woodlands surrounding the rivers Elan & Wye, rarely using any metalled road.
Nearly all our horses & ponies are home bred, broken in & schooled for trekking in this area by Kate, our excellent Manager/Guide. She is assisted by her family team including her young daughter "Tiddles" - invaluable for giving confidence to apprehensive children, when they see her riding!
If you wish to bring your own horse or horses, we have stabling for up to 6 with a ¾ acre paddock at the back of the hotel & a secure court-yard.
We cater for all levels of ability & even run “nervous novice” sessions.
We are celebrating 47 years trekking licence & 41 years recommendation by the BHS in 2013.
Please note that the trekking runs from Easter to October.
