Lion Royal Motorbike Trail Riding - Rhayader.

The Lion Royal Hotel has a long-standing association with those that enjoy the freedom of an engine & two wheels. Until her passing in September 2014, Mary was undoubtedly the most experienced biker for many a mile.

We are ideally placed in the heart of Wales for both on & off road riding. Not only are the Radnorshire roads something of a "Mecca" for those that enjoy tarmac under their wheels, Trail Riders also enjoy the greatest choice of green-laning in the country with plenty of mud, bogs, shale, rocks & rivers to be encountered - all within easy reach of the hotel.

If the wonderful Welsh weather does its worst, or you happen to have a close encounter with one of our rivers, we are always happy to dry your kit for you & our baths are hot! Not to mention that all of our rooms enjoy full en-suite facilities.

We know that your machine is your pride & joy and the hotel has a secure courtyard car-park with large covered garage area, a ¾ acre paddock for trailers & support vehicles & drive through access on to two streets.

You can enjoy the services of our experienced guides or choose to explore of your own accord. Guides are also experienced mechanics & E. T. James are close by, should the unexpected happen and you suffer a mechanical failure.

We welcome all riders, both old and new, at all levels of ability, and our guides are always happy to offer help and instruction if required.

Guided Trail Riding.

A standard days riding covers a distance of approximately 100 to 120 miles.

Introduced in 2012, we now offer extended days. Covering approximately 200 miles these are for those with EXPERIENCE & only if both rider & machine are "up for it!"

We welcome day parties as well as those who wish to stay at the hotel.

Please contact the Lion for details.
